Well – to be honest – we didn’t actually visit America but did go to Bath to see the American Museum on a beautiful sunny day in July 2019.
The American Museum took us on a journey through the history of America, from its early settlers to the twentieth century. It is the only museum of Americana outside of the United States. It is housed in the 1820 house – Claverton Manor – which was bought in 1958 by the founders of the museum.
The furniture collections at the American Museum are displayed in period room settings to create a sense of how American families lived during the last 300 years.
