Britannia Royal Naval College, Dartmouth
Since 1863, Dartmouth and the River Dart have been the home of initial Naval Officer training in the UK. Today, it is the only remaining Naval College in the country, fulfilling a vital role in training Naval cadets not only from Britain but those from the Commonwealth and all over the world.
The iconic architecture is a spectacle in itself. Designed by Sir Aston Webb, it was completed in 1905. On the tour you will discover many features and facets of life at the College, from the earliest days through the Second World War, right up to the world class training the College delivers today
The coach will travel to Dartmouth arriving around midday after a stop for coffee. After time for lunch in Dartmouth the coach will take us up the hill to the College for a tour which will last just over 2 hours.
This is a walking tour with limited opportunities to sit. Wheelchair access is limited and scooters cannot be accommodated.
This is open to Golden Cap Association Members only. Further information and booking details in the January 2022 Newsletter.
